Visual Arts

James AnthonyDecember 4, 2017December 5, 2018

The Visual Art course allows students to bring ideas to a point of resolution with a focus in either two-dimensional artwork such as drawing, painting, printing, photography, or three-dimensional artwork such as ceramics, subtractive or additive sculpture, with possibilities of exploring time-based media in an artistic context. The development of a range of techniques and skills in a selection of media will also be a focus of the course. The application of information technology skills are incorporated in the development of designs as students examine exciting trends in the production of contemporary Visual artworks. Students have opportunity to foster understanding of arts practice through examining contexts that are meaningful and relevant.

The assessment tasks focus on the development of practical skills that result in the production and display of artworks.

The Visual Art course helps prepare boys for ATAR Visual Arts, General Visual Arts and Diploma Visual Arts courses in Years 11 and 12.
