Year 2

Tim BurrowsMarch 21, 2018December 7, 2018

Year 2 is a consolidation year on both the introduction to six units of inquiry and the explicit teaching of literacy and numeracy skills with accompanying benchmark expectations. The balance between skill acquisition and the developing of a transdisciplinary approach to learning ensures our students have the best opportunity to be connected and effective as members of a global learning community. The units inquire into, ‘who we are’ in relation to personal and social health, ‘how we express ourselves’ through cultural celebrations, ‘how the world works through’ a scientific look at forces, ‘sharing the planet’ which enquires into how our decisions can impact on the Earth’s resources, ‘where we are in time and place’ an investigation into significant people, and ‘how we organise ourselves’ through communities and their use of public spaces.
