Dear Parents and Students

Welcome to the Scotch College Course Information website. This website is designed to give you a broad overview of the courses that your son will engage with here at the College.

In the Junior School the courses are specifically designed to deliver the Australian Curriculum through the IB Primary Years Programme. As students complete the MYP in the Middle School and move into the Senior School, they have an increased choice in regard to the courses of study. This begins with the selection of electives in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10, expanding into complete choice of pathways and courses in Years 11 and 12. We encourage students to base their selection on their interests and ability to ensure they are engaged in their learning.

Students are encouraged to talk to the teachers of courses they are considering in order to assist them in making informed decisions. In the Senior School, the Curriculum Leader of each department is a recommended resource of information to assist students in making their decisions.

The Deputy Head of Teaching and Learning in each sub-school is also available to help guide students in their selections. Parents are encouraged to meet with the Leader of Pathways and Partnerships to discuss their son’s course selections and the possible pathways he may wish to consider upon graduating from the College.
