Dear Parents and Students

Welcome to the Scotch College Course Information website. This website is designed to give you a broad overview of the courses that your son will engage with here at the College.

In the Junior School the courses are specifically designed to deliver the Australian Curriculum through the IB Primary Years Programme. As students complete the MYP in the Middle School and move into the Senior School, they have an increased choice in regard to the courses of study. This begins with the selection of electives in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10, expanding into complete choice of pathways and courses in Years 11 and 12. We encourage boys to base their selection on their interests and ability to ensure they are engaged in their learning.

Students are encouraged to talk to the teachers of courses they are considering in order to assist them in making informed decisions. In the Senior School, the Curriculum Leader of each department is a recommended resource of information to assist boys in making their decisions.

The Dean of Teaching and Learning in each sub-school is also available to help guide boys in their selections. Parents are encouraged to meet with Mr Peter Frusher, the school’s Career Adviser to discuss their son’s course selections and the possible pathways he may wish to consider upon graduating from the College.

I wish the students well in making their course selections and encourage families to seek support from the School should they need assistance in this process.
