Drama
During this course, students will explore both contemporary and historical theatre forms and traditions, focusing on text interpretation, character development and production design. They will experience, present and respond to a variety of performance styles, including Commedia dell’ arte, Melodrama and Contemporary Realism. Students will develop practical skills in the areas of acting technique, improvisation, movement, voice and scriptwriting. In responding, students will recognise and articulate the elements of drama, and gain a deeper knowledge of some forms and genres of theatre and its applications in the wider community. Students will further experiment with theatre technologies and gain a greater understanding of their increasing application in modern theatrical practice.
