Drama

James AnthonyDecember 4, 2017December 7, 2018

Year 8 Drama will develop and extend students’ performance skills in the areas of voice, movement, mime, flashback and narration. Through examining theatrical realism, characterisation and blocking techniques, students will explore themes of identity and change in the Australian play ‘Lockie Leonard Human Torpedo’. They will work collaboratively in selecting, rehearsing and performing two contrasting scenes from the play. Students will devise their own performance work in response to representations of human situations, characters, behaviour and relationships presented in visual texts, combining the elements of drama through improvisation and play-building.  Throughout this process students will apply characterisation techniques, experiment with design technologies, and develop a performance vocabulary as they learn the basic principles of dramatic production.
