This co-curricular club is designed to inspire STEM students to pursue an innovative tech-based passion project. This could take the form of Drone Technology, Coding, Robotics, 3D Printing, Virtual Reality or a even a novel business proposal. If students require funding or mentorship, they will have the opportunity to pitch their idea to the Scotch Parents Committee and will be supported through the process. This club is for boys who are studying STEM, passionate about STEM and/or interested in pursuing a STEM career.

When preparing boys for life, we need to consider authentic learning opportunities and the STEM Start-up Club has been designed with this in mind. Boys develop their own unique projects, design proposals, create funding requests, negotiate with key stakeholders, work in a team and pitch their ideas to a large audience of Entrepreneurial Scotch Parents. There were some nerves, but the presentations so far have been outstanding and incredibly well received by the audience. Numerous opportunities have already arisen from the first projects including financial support for building their business, funds for equipment and software purchases… even job offers.

This is an amazing opportunity for boys to develop intrinsic motivation through the development of their very own passion project. If you want your son to experience what it is like to start up their own tech company, the STEM Start-up Club is as authentic as you can get.
