Philosophy
Year 6 Introduction to Philosophy
This course provides Year 6 students with a philosophical grounding to some of the biggest questions we face. The course challenges assumptions, provokes debate and offers an interdisciplinary approach to how we explore ethics, artificial intelligence, animal rights, happiness and other complex topics. Scotch College’s Scholar in Residence, Akram Azimi, provides guest lectures and boys engage in fun collaborative activities including Socratic dialogues, team debates, communities of inquiry and the use of virtual reality goggles.
Students on the Middle School Enrichment Register are invited to participate.
In 2021, this course occurred on Friday afternoons in Autumn Term.
