INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE LEARNER PROFILE
The IB learner profile describes a broad range of human capacities that go beyond academic success. They imply a commitment to help all students of Scotch College to learn to respect themselves, others and the world around them.
The profile aims to develop boys who are: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-Takers, Balanced and Reflective.
APPROACHES TO LEARNING
Through the Approaches To Learning in IB programmes, students develop skills that have relevance across the curriculum that help them “learn how to learn”. ATL skills can be learned and taught, improved with practice and developed incrementally. They provide a solid foundation for learning independently and with others. ATL skills help students prepare for and demonstrate learning through meaningful assessment. They provide a common language that students and teachers can use to reflect on, and articulate, the process of learning. The Approaches to Learning skills are listed below:
