Speech and Occupational Therapy Services at Scotch
Early intervention services are vital to ensuring your child is given the best foundations for success in language, communication, cognitive and social development. Research shows a child’s developmental pathway can be significantly improved with early identification and intervention to improve outcomes for children.
At Scotch, we routinely screen our children and provide a report to families in the areas of speech and occupational therapy (OT). These screens are conducted by experienced practitioners who work on site and the children complete a number of tasks to identify how they are progressing with their understanding and use of language, production of sounds, attention, social interactions, fine motor skills, manual dexterity, visual motor integration, bilateral integration, and gross motor skills. Attention, sensory regulation, grasp, prewriting skills, motor planning and organisational skills are also clinically observed.
The screening process includes screen administration, data collection, scoring and analysis, report with recommendations and follow-up discussions with parents and teachers as required. A summary of the results will also be sent home to parents. The screens are included as part of your Term One school fees.
Screening is conducted on the following timeline
