Visual Art: Surreal Pots and Sneaker Stickers

The Year 6 Visual Art course is Inquiry based, which is used to move students to deeper levels of understanding. Inquiry develops curiosity and promotes critical and creative thinking. The first project is influenced by Surrealism. Students will explore this Art Movement and look at influential artists from this style, including Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte. Students will develop ideas for their own Surreal Pot and they will use skills and processes like hand-building with clay to create their own original and creative Surreal Pot. The second project is influenced by the world of Sneakers. Students will look at creating a drawing of their favourite sneakers onto a sticker.
