Media: Making a short film

The Year 8 Media course is Inquiry based, which is used to move students to deeper levels of understanding. Inquiry develops curiosity and promotes critical and creative thinking. The first project is influenced by Surrealism and the films that use this style including, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Inception and Coldplay’s Up & Up music video. Students will work within a Production team to create a short film based on the theme of a ‘Dream sequence’. Students will develop ideas for their film, and they will use skills and processes like, cinematography, directing, acting and editing to create their own original and creative short film.
