The Year 7 Drama course is Inquiry-based. Throughout the semester, the students will continue their exciting journey in the Performing Arts. They will be introduced to Melodrama and develop their performance skills and they will have the opportunity to take part in practical workshops to continue to build confidence. This process will move students to deeper levels of understanding.

The students will continue to develop their performance skills through the exploration of Melodrama. Students will explore the exaggerated acting style and the conventions associated with this form. Students will be given an opening scene of a Melodrama and will take on the challenge of writing their original script. In the following term, students will rehearse and perform all three original scenes to an audience of their peers. Not only will they perform a character, but they will be responsible for selecting costumes, props, lighting, and sound for their performance.
