Year 6 Drama – Mime

The Year 6 Drama course is Inquiry-based. Throughout the semester, the students will begin their exciting journey in the Performing Arts. This Inquiry will develop curiosity and promote critical and creative thinking. They will be introduced to basic performance skills and complete activities to build confidence whilst working with their peers.

When exploring the form of Mime students will develop an understanding of the origins of Mime and develop an appreciation of the early works of Marcel Marceau through to the contemporary performances from Mr Bean. Students will have the opportunity to create a Spy character and explore the world of a spy. In Drama, they will collaborate, work through a rehearsal process, and create a ‘first mission’ performance. This performance will be a culmination of skills studied throughout the semester, highlighting student’s mime skills, and exploring the elements of Drama.
