“You don’t think your way to creative work. You work your way to creative thinking.” – George Nelson

STEM is a compulsory subject for all Year 8 students. The focus of the course is on developing an understanding of electronic systems, using a range of components and equipment. Students will develop a prototype that can aid in the home, such as a motion sensor alarm or thermostat. They will implement and modify solutions, using technology such as 3D modelling, 3D printing, laser cutting and microcontroller coding.  Students will be encouraged to be creative problem solvers and develop their design skills through the MYP design cycle. There is a strong emphasis on working safely in the workshop setting.
